Today marks 8 years since we lost our baby to miscarriage. I wrote a prayerful reflection from my heart. I hope it helps someone else to navigate the grief of this kind of loss.
Sometimes I pop into my husband’s office to get something from the mini fridge, and I have to catch my breath. The works in progress are lovely in the scriptorium.
I’m so happy that I got to help bring this book into the world!
Happy Birthday to our wonderful youngest. For the next few weeks till her twin brothers’ birthday, we have three 6 year olds in the family! We love this bright, kind, thoughtful, strong girl so much. She loves all of her presents and is off playing with them now. I’m glad the grandmothers were able to join us by video, too! #childrenofjoy
This guy. ❤️He’s my little Hobbit. #childrenofjoy
This guy wanted to play. He found a little willow twig and dared me to try to get it. #doctorhoratiobiscuit
Lent is on the way, and the posts about fasting are showing up everywhere. I know that fasting is a sensitive topic for lots of people, whether due to eating disorders and other health conditions or (especially) due to this time of rampant food insecurity. I won’t be philosophizing or advising at all about food this Lent. But I do care if you eat. Please let me know if you need food, and I will help as I am able.
As many of you know, last year our family launched a traditional small press, Park End Books, to bring emerging Orthodox and Catholic writers to the mainstream book market and libraries. I’m the senior editor at Park End Books, and we have a great sale going on this week to prepare for Lent! Now through the end of the month, save 20% off all titles purchased through ParkEndBooks.com with code LENT2021 entered at checkout. Don’t miss this chance to order our highly acclaimed women’s devotional Darkness is as Light and our newly released Letters for Pilgrimage: Lenten Meditations for Teen Girls, just in time for Lent! #bookstagram #christianbooks #orthodoxchristian #catholic
I got out the spiral binding machine today when I realized we had run out of sketchbooks for our little artists. We spent a while making lots of spiral sketchbooks, and I ordered some larger coils for future larger projects. #childrenofjoy
