Candlemas was lovely, and my sister and niece came afterwards to help me paint and play with my youngest daughter. We got the classroom painted! It took two coats after all because of some rougher parts of drywall, but we did it! Hopefully the greenery comes in on time tomorrow so I can start putting the room back together.

I love my godmama! I wouldn’t want to stay up in the wee hours spreading gold leaf over every surface of the church floor with anyone else! 😄☕️🫖❤️ Thanking God for Elina @pelikansfly 🙏🏼☦️❤️🫖

My godmother @pelikansfly Elina Pelikan wrote the first 8 of 20 icons that are part of the first set of icons for our church (St. Paul Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church in Katy, TX). We had a whirlwind visit and installation yesterday and today. (See our city’s patron saint, Saint Katherine?!) These are Western Orthodox icons, a style that hasn’t been written in centuries due to the ravages of the Reformations. I’m so grateful to see this ancient tradition being restored! I’m so excited that the repairs are almost finished! We need to move back in this week, so I’m going to paint & get the room ready (with my little helpers!). My parent breakout group at St. Emmelia’s SOUTH conference is about removing handicaps to learning. Used to, I would make a big slideshow. This year, it’s show and tell.
